Force Awakens Toys Leak Dialogue

Yesterday was Force Friday, the launch of the new The Force Awakens toy line. This continues a long history of Midnight Madness events preceding new Star Wars films. We can only imagine that with Disney’s plans to launch a new film every year, we’ll be getting Force Fridays every year from now until the end of time. But until then, we still have a new movie to look forward to. And if you’re like me, your gobbling up all the toys and all info about the toys trying to find out as much as you can about the movies to … Read more…

About That Instagram Teaser

Star Wars Episode 7 is coming in three and a half months. If you’re like me, the first half of that sentence already makes you smile like a gleeful idiot. But then that second part, it’s coming so son, and that just makes you heart jump a beat. New Star Wars is coming guys, and it’s being done by people who know how to make good movies. Not that I’m saying the prequels were awful, but let’s just say that Lucas was given a little too much breathing room with those movies. But man oh man is there a ton … Read more…

Pissing on Metal Bikinis

And so what’s the first thing I’m going to write about? Star Wars of course. Okay okay, I know you’re tired of hearing about how amazing Episode 7 is going to be when we haven’t see the actual movie. I know the subject of this article is old hat now, but I don’t care. I have something to say about it that nobody else seems to be saying. So let’s talk about something super dumb that happened in the world of Star Wars, because this kind of stupidity is frankly quite absurd. It begins as it always does. A single … Read more…

Star Wars: The Trailer Awakens 2

This was a huge week for trailers, what with the reveal of the first trailers for Batman v. Superman, The Fantastic Four, and even a leaked teaser for the first Star Wars standalone film, Rogue One. But of course, the biggest reveal was the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens trailer. And what a reveal it was. The first teaser trailer was perfect for inciting the type of excitement that a first teaser was supposed to incite. Before our eyes was a flurry of action with a freaked out string section providing the rhythm of our heartbeats. There … Read more…

First Stand Alone Star Wars Movie Named

Thursday morning, Disney CEO Bob Iger walked up on stage during a press conference, and actually announced a few things. Unsurprisingly, he talked about The Force Unleashed just enough to say that he can’t talk about anything. Then he announced a rather minor but already frequented rumor that Rian Johnson, a director behind Looper and like, three Breaking Bad episodes, would get the distinct honor of writing and directing Star Wars Episode VIII. The only interesting part about this announcement is that they are planning on releasing the next iteration in May of 2017, and maybe the confirmation that J.J. … Read more…

Daredevil – 2nd Trailer

When I saw the teaser trailer for Netflix’s rendition of Daredevil, I was interested, but only because of the concept. I’ve always loved the concept of Daredevil, a man with a disability that turns it to his advantage. The blind criminal prosecutor who fights like a vigilante at night. And most of all, I love the fact that Netflix, a company who clearly knows how to grab the right talent for making quality content, has grabbed this idea for a television series. However, the trailer left me dubious. It didn’t say much, and that’s not what I want to see … Read more…

Harrison Ford is a Badass

So, Harrison Ford almost died in a plane crash a few days ago. And by almost died, I mean crashed the plane into the ground and walked away from it. As you do, when you’re friggin Han Solo. I’ve heard so many stories over the years regarding celebrities who learn to fly a plane, because money and because private plane and because of the unyielding desire within people who become massively successful to reach for the stars, even if they’re already in space. I’ve heard a lot of stories about the tragedy that results when people take the laws of … Read more…

Leonard Nimoy

Leonard Nimoy has passed. Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard this. Everyone was shocked, although if we’d been paying attention, maybe we wouldn’t be. He’d been struggling with disease brought on by decades of smoking for many years. He was hospitalized on the 19th. Yet here we are, grieving for a man that nobody really knew. He seemed to struggle with finding success for most of his life, yet we all remember him, if anything, as the eponymous Spock. I, too, am guilty of not paying enough attention to this great man and his achievements. While looking … Read more…

Star Wars: The Names Awakened

Remember all those new characters from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer whose identities we could only speculate on? Well now we at least have their names, curtesy of J.J. Abrams delivering some awesome retro-looking Topps cards to Entertainment Weekly over the weekend. First of all, that’s one of the coolest ways to leak out some new Star Wars details. Second of all, well now we have names. So now what? These names don’t really tell us much on the surface, really. Letting these names slip isn’t some disastrous spoiler or anything. But I’m a Star Wars fan, as … Read more…

Star Wars: A Teaser Awakens Part II

“The Millenium Falcon Looks Awesome Need I say more?” Heck yeah, I do. I mean, come on, this is the trailer to the movie that succeeds Return of the friggin Jedi. In my opinion, this is the most significant thing to happen to Star Wars since 1983, when Return of the Jedi came out. There’s no way I’m going to stop talking about it. Heck, my wife’s already tired of it. I might as well make you tired of it too. My last article about this matter was written mere hours after I saw the trailer. I’ve now had 72 … Read more…
